I have a green card and I came to Korea last August. I have applied for a reentry permit before my departure nad I haven't received a receipt yet. I got on Nebraska USCIS web site to check on the processing status but they are still procssing applicatino filed on around July 24th, 2007. I have two questions that hopefully, someone will kindly help me out with:
1) First, I sent my I-131 with old filing fee on July 31, 2007 and I came to Seoul. I found out my application was denided due to the incorrect amount. My frined in the Stataes sent it again for me with forgery signature of mine and correct increased filing fee. Can they find out that someone signed my I-131 for me and I wasn't in the States at the time of filing of I-131?
2) I have been in Seoul for almost 9 months with receit of I-131 yet. When do I need to go back to the States to secure my green card status? Should I reappply for I-131 since I haven't received a receipt for my application that filed on July 31st, 2007?
Thank you for reading andp please share your tipls kindly....

I see there are two issues in you case:
#1: If your friend sent your Re-entry Permit Application while you were in Seoul your application might get rejected or denied.
#2: You may not re-apply for Re-entry Permit while oversea.
Because of these two r

#2: You may not re-apply for Re-entry Permit while oversea.
Because of these two r
reasons I suggest that you return to US as soon as possible. When you enter, carryany evidence of what you went through, so that, you can explain the authority. However, if you have to return to US passing one year of your departure, I suggest that you
you visit the US Consulate in Seoul and inquire about Returning Resident (SB-1) Visa. If you want to get more info on SB-1 visit the following page: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_1333.html
When visiting the US Consulate in Seoul make sure to have all evidences as well. Good Luck! Forged signature: I am curious to know if the forged check went through but it is definitely a separate issue and I would'nt worry about this too much.
